About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate high-quality medical care for children and adolescents in the respective clinical area
  • Manage resources appropriately
  • Provide patient care in compliance with Professional Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations, and Children’s policies and procedures
  • Participate in quality improvement and incorporate research findings into practice
  • Provide or serve as a resource for patient, family, and staff education
  • Educate and assist trainees with medical decision making
  • Authenticate reports of physician services and maintain accurate, complete records
  • Complete documentation and ensure timely communication to facilitate patient care and reimbursement
  • Respond to patient and clinical staff questions and requests
  • Participate in meetings and activities supporting clinical area operations
  • Complete and maintain required certifications and specialty training
  • Perform other responsibilities as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of an accredited, four-year medical school
  • Graduate of an accredited, post-graduate residency program in Pediatrics
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatrics
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia
  • BLS or PALS certification required
  • Current DEA registration
  • Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing as part of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Professional Staff
  • No minimum experience required; experience in the respective clinical area preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and families and as a team member
