About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide 168 hours per month of clinical service in the NICU as a member of the APP team
- Clinically manage approximately 12–15 infants under the direct supervision of the attending neonatologist
- Provide clinical care primarily at Arthur M. Blank Hospital, Emory Midtown, and Grady Memorial Hospital
- Teach fellows, residents, and medical students in the Neonatology Division and other educational venues
- Attend Department of Pediatrics Grand Rounds when possible
- Provide exemplary, high-quality clinical service and appropriate resource management
- Participate in quality improvement and clinical research activities
- Participate in fellows’ conferences and didactic lectures for nurse practitioners at Emory
- Maintain Georgia state licensure, DEA certification, and appropriate facility privileges
- Provide patient and family education and staff education
- Educate and assist trainees with medical decision-making
- Authenticate reports of physician services and maintain accurate, complete records
- Complete documentation and ensure timely communication for patient care and reimbursement
- Respond to patient and clinical staff questions and requests
- Participate in required meetings and activities supporting clinical area operations
- Maintain BLS, PALS, or NALS certification and any additional required specialty training/certifications
- Perform other responsibilities as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited, four-year medical school
- Graduate of an accredited, post-graduate residency program in Pediatrics
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
- Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia
- BLS or PALS certification required
- Current DEA registration
- Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing as part of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Professional Staff
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and families and as a team member
- Experience in the respective clinical area preferred
- Personal organization and time management skills
- Human relations and teamwork skills
- Personal adaptability and motivation
- Listening skills
- No minimum experience required
