About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure safe, efficacious, rational, and cost-effective patient medication therapy
  • Influence physicians' use of resources and monitor drug effectiveness
  • Develop and improve integrated clinical and distributive pharmaceutical services
  • Review physician orders and coordinate medication dispensing
  • Provide clinical and educational services to healthcare professionals, pediatric patients, and families
  • Perform production and distributive pharmacy responsibilities
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to provide safe, cost-effective drug therapy
  • Provide drug information and medication-use education to healthcare professionals
  • Develop and evaluate drug policies, conduct drug utilization evaluations, and report adverse drug reactions/events
  • Maintain accurate patient medication profiles and coordinate medication needs during transitions of care
  • Educate and support medication education for patients and families
  • Serve as preceptor and clinical leader to new employees, PGY1 residents, and pharmacy students
  • Maintain individual competence and develop professional practice management skills

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in a hospital pharmacy in pediatrics
  • PharmD (or equivalent experience) and graduation from an accredited pharmacy school
  • Georgia licensed pharmacist
  • Residency or equivalent experience
  • American Heart Association Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple groups of healthcare professionals
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and parents/caregivers
