About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform diagnostic and/or therapeutic quality imaging procedures for pediatric patients
  • Operate modality-specific technical equipment for imaging, image processing, transmission, archiving, and electronic medical records
  • Update electronic medical records through order entry, exam scheduling, check-in, exam start/end, verification, merging, and image rejection
  • Ensure accurate billing for radiology procedures
  • Provide radiologists and physicians with relevant patient history and obtain informed consent
  • Assist with administration of contrast media and/or radioisotopes
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, sedation/anesthesia personnel, and staff to ensure patient safety
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including ACR accreditation
  • Perform radiologic examinations using standardized protocols and evaluate image quality
  • Apply age-specific competencies and educate patients and families
  • Follow hospital and departmental policies while supporting organizational goals
  • Complete mandatory CBTs, annual competencies, and other educational requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Successful completion of an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)-approved educational program
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists credential in Radiography (R)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
  • Associate's degree preferred
  • Experience in pediatrics preferred
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and patient management skills
  • No minimum experience required
