About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct and collate research and analysis on projects and sector trends to support SRHR strategic priorities and operational planning
  • Provide global, regional, national and sectoral insights for strategy and planning
  • Manage an existing $100M active grant portfolio focused on family planning commodities
  • Monitor and update the global family planning commodities gap and help mobilise additional financing
  • Support analysis to enhance equitable access to SRHR commodity financing
  • Monitor grant-specific results, domestic financing milestones, country pathways and sector-level outcomes
  • Provide management and administrative support for complex programmes in the Access portfolio
  • Coordinate new proposals, including research, analytics, board briefings, investment memos, board documents, budget reviews and stakeholder coordination
  • Analyse portfolio and programme evidence to improve partner performance and inform investments
  • Manage cross-portfolio commodity supply and demand, anticipating and resolving stockout issues
  • Monitor the FP Access and Financing Mission, coordinate cross-team course corrections and identify opportunities
  • Administer grants end-to-end from concept formation through final payment
  • Coordinate SRHR investments with development finance, nutrition, Africa and other CIFF teams
  • Lead sector, portfolio and programme reporting, including board and investment reports
  • Coordinate grant payment forecasting with the finance partner
  • Act as super-user for team IT systems and databases and troubleshoot issues
  • Define monitoring and evaluation approaches, commission evaluations and analyse programme data
  • Review programme performance, identify risks and delays, and agree corrective action with partners
  • Apply due diligence and risk management practices across the portfolio
  • Manage CIFF partnerships with UNFPA and GFF and act as lead CIFF contact for SCMU
  • Build knowledge resources and expertise on equitable access, demand generation and scale strategies
  • Develop relationships with governments, social enterprises, NGOs, foundations, civil society and beneficiary-led organisations
  • Maintain stakeholder records and act as first point of contact for external enquiries
  • Support team inductions and mentor new SRHR analysts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in management of large delivery programmes, financing and norms change for SRHR with a focus on commodities
  • In-depth understanding of the analytics and assumptions supporting the global FP commodity gap
  • Working knowledge of the global health financing architecture
  • Ability to interpret and develop complex financial models, including forecasts, financial statements and budgets
  • Good knowledge of key debates within sexual and reproductive health and the key players
  • Previous analysis/research work experience in the private sector, public sector or an international development context
  • Professional, sound judgement; ability to think critically, objectively and strategically
  • Ability to adapt presentation styles for different audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well as part of a team
  • Effective organisational and project management skills; flexibility under changing priorities and ability to work under pressure
  • Outstanding verbal and written English communication skills
  • Capacity to work in varied cultural and socio-economic contexts with cultural sensitivity
  • IT proficiency, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently with initiative and problem-solving skills
