About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work directly with the COO and leadership team on how Chip operates and scales
  • Evolve the operating model, including organisational structures, accountabilities, decision-making, governance and ways of working
  • Identify and solve cross-business operating problems
  • Improve the connection between company priorities, functional plans and execution
  • Drive operating leverage through process improvement, technology, automation, AI and organisational changes
  • Simplify organisational complexity, hand-offs, duplicated activity, reporting and decision-making
  • Maintain a business-wide view of performance, execution, dependencies and capacity constraints
  • Lead selected COO-sponsored strategic and operational initiatives
  • Own Chip’s business-wide AI transformation programme
  • Identify high-value AI, automation and operating-model opportunities
  • Take opportunities from discovery and business case through prototyping, implementation, adoption and measurement
  • Build and prioritise a transformation and AI value pipeline
  • Redesign end-to-end workflows across functions
  • Create visibility into team work, capacity, blockers and intervention points
  • Drive cross-functional execution across Product, Engineering, Operations, Data and business teams
  • Strengthen accountability and ensure commitments translate into delivery
  • Embed AI and automation into new process design
  • Develop scalable operating systems and workflows using tools such as Linear
  • Transform management information and reporting using AI and data
  • Improve leadership meetings, business reviews, planning and reporting processes
  • Establish baselines and measure productivity, financial and operational benefits
  • Drive adoption and embed new ways of working
  • Monitor AI, agentic workflow, automation and operating-model developments
  • Work with the COO, ExCo and senior leadership team to report progress, surface blockers and challenge stakeholders
  • Chip builds a wealth app for savings, investments and pensions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Significant experience delivering technology, AI, automation, digital or business/operating-model transformation in a fast-moving organisation
  • Experience with broader business transformation, organisational effectiveness, operating models or complex cross-functional change
  • Strong understanding of accountability, decision-making, prioritisation, governance, management information and operating cadence
  • Strong practical understanding of modern AI, including LLMs, agentic AI, workflow automation and emerging AI tooling
  • Evidence of implementing AI or automation into real business processes and demonstrating delivered impact
  • Ability to understand business processes, break them down and identify improvements through technology, AI, data, process redesign or organisational change
  • Ability to move between strategic and operational problems
  • Strong commercial judgement, including value, ROI and opportunity cost assessment
  • Exceptional programme and execution skills
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to establish baselines, quantify opportunities and measure results
  • Ability to operate horizontally and influence people who do not report to you
  • Confidence and credibility working directly with executives and senior leaders
  • Judgement to determine whether problems require technology, process change, clearer accountability or a decision
  • Bias towards experimentation and delivery
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Genuine interest in how AI is changing organisational operations
