About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review, interpret, and edit legal documents, including wills, trusts, waivers, receipts, releases, inventories, and accountings
  • Ensure document accuracy before submission to the bequest attorney or client
  • Communicate directly with financial institutions, estate and trust fiduciaries, and/or their legal representatives
  • Facilitate efficient collection of charitable bequests
  • Monitor estate and trust administration progress to ensure timely receipt of bequests
  • Collaborate with bequest attorneys, team members, and clients
  • Draft and send correspondence, including confirmation letters to fiduciaries
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in the bequest database
  • Collect and properly record necessary documentation
  • Document notifications, correspondence, and follow-up actions in the database for internal and client review
  • Complete training on trusts and estates, probate, and estate settlement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree or equivalent required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze legal documents
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self-motivated, with ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to receive and apply constructive feedback
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred
  • Experience in legal, administrative, or financial environments preferred
  • Interest in estate law, non-profit work, or probate administration preferred
