About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform routine technical services within medical practice settings under physician and department leadership supervision
- Function efficiently in back-office and/or front-office settings
- Support the Commerce Urgent Care clinic in Orange, California
- Work three 12-hour shifts per week
- Provide care in a clinic open daily, including weekends and holidays, from 12pm to 12am
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous work experience or externship in a healthcare setting
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
- Graduate of a vocational school having successfully completed requirements for MA
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for safe and effective job performance
- Proficient in medical terminology
- Knowledge of computer systems and software used in the functional area
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Medical Assistant Diploma
- Ability to provide appropriate patient care depending on age, cultural, and spiritual needs
- Ability to set goals and judge results according to high standards
- Ability to advance care through development of new ideas and technology
- Ability to promote teamwork and exceed patient and family expectations
- Ability to lift and carry 40–50 lbs
- Ability to push/pull approximately 150–200 lbs and perform lateral transfers of 150–200 lbs
