Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Previous work experience or externship in a healthcare setting
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Graduate of a vocational school having successfully completed requirements for MA
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for safe and effective job performance
  • Proficient in medical terminology
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software used in the functional area
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Medical Assistant Diploma required
  • Ability to provide appropriate patient care based on age, cultural, and spiritual needs
  • Ability to set goals and judge results according to high standards
  • Ability to advance care through new ideas and technology
  • Ability to promote teamwork and exceed patient and family expectations
  • Ability to lift and carry 40–50 lbs
  • Ability to push/pull approximately 150–200 lbs and perform lateral transfers of 150–200 lbs
  • Physical ability to bend, climb, use keyboards repetitively, perform fine motor activities, push/pull, reach, sit, squat/kneel/crawl, stand, talk/hear, twist, walk, and maintain wrist position deviation
  • Ability to work around airborne communicable disease, bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, dust/particulate matter, extreme noise and temperatures, radiation, and uneven surfaces/elevations
