About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and manage Chrysos’ global spare parts and consumables supply chain processes.
- Contribute to a global spare parts strategy.
- Identify and vet new suppliers, and place orders using the spares management system.
- Arrange import and export freight shipments to ensure items are available on site when required.
- Use data analytics to set suitable reorder points and reorder quantities.
- Maintain accurate supplier, part, stock-level and parts-consumed records.
- Contribute to achieving greater than 90% availability of PhotonAssay™.
- Attend sites in West Africa for spares stocktakes and maintain inventory-record accuracy.
- Manage contractors for service and repair of compressors, air conditioners and other subsystems.
- Manage radiation badges and survey meters, including ordering, distributing, measurement and recalibration processes.
- Support a strong WHS culture.
- Perform other duties delegated by the Supply Chain Manager.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs and improve efficiency with cross-functional teams.
- Serve as the primary contact for logistics inquiries and provide timely updates to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with demand planning, procurement, warehouse and production teams to align logistics activities with business needs and production schedules.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrated experience in a procurement, logistics or purchasing officer role or similar.
- Advanced understanding and direct experience managing complex cross border, import and export procedures with related authorities.
- Data-driven approach.
- Experience dealing with global shipping, Certificates of Conformity and pre-shipment inspections.
- Technical aptitude, for gaining a general understanding of the PhotonAssayTM system and its parts.
- Commercial aptitude, for ensuring optimal business outcomes, while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, colleagues and customers.
- Safety mindset.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills.
- Strong customer service ethos.
- Able and willing to travel and work within West Africa and overseas, including at remote locations such as mine sites.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Permanent local residency or citizenship in either Ghana or the Ivory Coast.
- Familiarity with the mining industry and mine-site operations.
- Familiarity with office productivity software such as SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Slack, and web-based tools including Monday.com.
