About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create relationships with local farmers to understand their chemical and fertilizer needs
- Operate sprayer/airflow machinery while loading and applying products safely, accurately, and efficiently
- Perform routine equipment maintenance
- Apply fertilizer and crop protection products under general supervision
- Use a high clearance sprayer or floater as needed
- Pick up and deliver products to customers
- Work with customers courteously and professionally
- Educate customers on applied products, field techniques, and additional products and services
- Assist sales staff with order accuracy and meeting patron needs
- Perform warehouse work, including operating loaders and forklifts, mechanics, and maintenance
- Comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including reporting, load securement, and hours of service
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and work environment
- Complete and document daily maintenance inspections
- Complete equipment repairs and preventive maintenance
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1+ years of experience in Agriculture Production, Operations, and/or Agriculture Application
- Valid Class A CDL
- Must meet minimum age requirement
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English and understand highway traffic signs and signals
- Maintain or be able to obtain a CDL and DOT medical card
- Ability to work additional hours, be available for overnight stays and occasional weekends
- Ability to lift 75 lbs
- Ability to climb rail cars, ladders, stairs and bins, and into back of trailer
- Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements preferred
- Agriculture background and customer experience preferred
- Bulk liquid, Pressure trailer, or Forklift experience preferred
