About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Operate feed mill equipment, including grinders, mixers, and batching/pelleting systems
  • Receive, handle, and move feed ingredients
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Prepare and manage loadout by opening hatches, attaching hoses, sampling, and ensuring accurate product delivery
  • Monitor batching/scaling systems and adjust processes to maintain feed quality and production accuracy
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, including greasing, inspections, and minor troubleshooting
  • Report mechanical issues
  • Maintain a clean, safe mill environment through housekeeping, spill cleanup, and site upkeep
  • Follow safety, quality, and compliance standards
  • Work with the team to meet daily production targets

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Knowledge of operations, production, manufacturing and/or agriculture environments
  • Must meet minimum age requirement
  • Ability to operate machinery such as conveyors, forklifts and electric hoist
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands
  • Working knowledge of basic computer functions
  • Ability to work independently for extended periods of time, as well as in confined spaces and hazardous environments
  • Ability to spend long periods of time on feet, including walking, standing and climbing steps and ladders
  • Ability to work at heights up to 120 ft.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to wear required protective equipment, including respirators, hard hats, and eye and hearing protection
  • Ability to use automated and manual tools and equipment
  • Ability to shovel, sweep, load, unload, lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs. frequently
  • Ability to work in noisy, dusty, and all-weather conditions
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Agriculture experience preferred
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Selected candidates may be required to pass pre-employment screenings, including drug, criminal, motor vehicle, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse checks
