About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate machinery and equipment in a processing facility under general supervision
- Conduct continuous inspections and monitor equipment
- Record operating parameters and adjust machinery and equipment to meet specifications and production targets
- Implement QA policies and procedures
- Complete sampling and testing of process streams, interpret QA results, and take appropriate action
- Comply with regulations and requirements and complete necessary records
- Conduct preventive and corrective equipment maintenance
- Maintain housekeeping, sanitation schedules, and the assigned work area
- Load and unload products to and from trucks and rail and carry materials
- Monitor, maintain, and care for issued tools
- Complete initial, ongoing, and supplemental training
- Promote a strong safety culture, follow safety policies, identify hazards, and correct or report unsafe conditions
- Collaborate with co-workers to support plant operations, solve problems, and identify improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Produce high-quality livestock feed safely and efficiently for CHS, a farmer-owned global agribusiness
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1+ years of experience in Operations and/or Production Operations
- Must meet minimum age requirement
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to work independently for extended periods and in confined spaces and hazardous environments
- Ability to stand, walk, climb steps and ladders, and work at heights up to 120 ft.
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to wear required protective equipment, including respirators, hard hats, and eye and hearing protection
- Ability to use automated and manual tools and equipment
- Ability to shovel, sweep, load, unload, lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs. frequently
- Ability to work in noisy, dusty, and all weather conditions
- Selected candidates must pass required pre-employment screenings, which may include drug, criminal, motor vehicle, physical requirements and FMCSA Clearinghouse checks
