About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Load and unload grain coming through the facility
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs
  • Monitor and maintain grain quality
  • Mix and load fertilizer and chemical products
  • Assist with loading trains
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of commodities and comply with company policies and government regulations
  • Work with customers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Prepare trucks and railcars for loading and unloading, including sampling, loosening nuts, opening hatches, and attaching or detaching flexible hoses
  • Load and unload agricultural inputs using heavy or light-duty machinery and equipment
  • Control and monitor load-out functions
  • Operate automated scale/dump systems
  • Conduct and record daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks
  • Inspect equipment for seeps and leaks
  • Monitor and maintain inventory quality
  • Deliver fertilizer, chemical, seed, feed, and other products to customer sites
  • Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work areas
  • Perform housekeeping duties, including sweeping, shoveling, power washing, scraping, and spill cleanup
  • Perform grounds maintenance, including snow removal
  • Perform warehouse work, including loader and forklift operation, inventory loading/unloading, and general maintenance
  • Report customer complaints, maintenance needs, repair needs, and safety concerns to the supervisor
  • Promote a strong safety culture and follow safety policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Identify and communicate workplace hazards and address unsafe conditions
  • Perform other assigned duties to ensure smooth facility operations and excellent customer service

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must meet minimum age requirement
  • 1+ years of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations
  • Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • CDL license or ability to attain one with Hazmat endorsement preferred
  • Agriculture experience preferred
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds
  • Ability to climb rail cars, ladders, stairs, and bins
  • Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures
  • Selected candidates may be required to pass pre-employment screenings, including drug, criminal, motor vehicle, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse checks
