About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and implement maintenance training programs, policies, and procedures
Keep maintenance training programs, policies, and procedures current and accurate
Train new and existing employees on maintenance policies and programs
Prepare routine reports and maintain associated files and records
Oversee aspects of the Prism Software Suite in the Refinery Training Department
Oversee the maintenance training and qualification program
Administer computer-based training systems
Collaborate with third-party trainers to provide on-site and off-site training
Develop, maintain, and communicate maintenance training metrics throughout the refinery
Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
Facilitate and support the development of maintenance subject matter experts
Ensure compliance with process safety management and OSHA regulations
Maintain accurate training records according to record-retention policies
Handle employee records and information confidentially
Build and maintain relationships with union personnel and administrative staff
Promote a strong safety culture, identify workplace hazards, and address unsafe conditions
Perform other duties as required or directed

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School diploma or GED
2+ years of experience in Training and/or Maintenance experience
5+ years’ experience in maintenance and/or heavy equipment roles in a refinery
Strong technical understanding of petroleum refinery Maintenance activities
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and other refinery-specific software
Excellent customer service and critical thinking skills
Ability to obtain and maintain required job qualifications, including forklift certification, mobile elevated work platform certification, and Train the Trainer certifications
Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including respirators
Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
Selected candidates may be required to pass drug, criminal, motor vehicle, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse pre-employment screenings
