About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform general labor duties throughout the plant, including sweeping, shoveling, power washing, painting, scraping, jackhammering, and soda blasting
  • Keep all work areas clean, orderly, and safe
  • Perform grounds maintenance, including snow removal and cleanup of material spills
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks, including lubrication of pumps, valves, and loading arms
  • Inspect in-use equipment for seeps and leaks
  • Document and accurately measure movement of petroleum products through the terminal
  • Load and unload asphalt trucks and unload asphalt rail cars
  • Maintain a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Carry a valid driver’s license
  • 2+ years of experience in Labor or Operations
  • Experience in mechanical and/or electrical fields
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds
  • Ability to climb rail cars, ladders, stairs, and bins and work to heights of 55 feet
  • Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures
  • Able to wear required protective equipment including respirators
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, including pipe wrench, sockets, combination wrenches, and hammers
  • Proficient with window-based applications
  • Ability to complete calculations in feet, inches, and sixteenths
