About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Load and unload grain, agronomy, and feed products
- Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs
- Monitor and maintain grain quality
- Mix and load fertilizer and chemical products
- Assist in loading trains
- Develop and maintain knowledge of commodities handled and comply with policies and regulations
- Work with customers courteously and professionally
- Prepare trucks and railcars for loading and unloading, including sampling, opening hatches, and attaching or detaching flexible hoses
- Operate machinery and equipment to load and unload agricultural inputs
- Control and monitor load-out functions
- Operate automated scale/dump systems
- Conduct and record maintenance tasks and inspect equipment for seeps and leaks
- Monitor and maintain inventory quality
- Deliver fertilizer, chemical, seed, feed, and other products to customer sites
- Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work areas
- Perform housekeeping, spill cleanup, and grounds maintenance including snow removal
- Perform warehouse work, loader and forklift operation, and general maintenance
- Report customer complaints, maintenance needs, repairs, and safety concerns to the supervisor
- Promote safety culture and follow company policies, procedures, and regulations
- Perform other duties as needed to ensure smooth facility operations and excellent customer service
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must meet minimum age requirement
- 1+ years of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations
- Ability to operate loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile
- Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- CDL license or ability to attain one with Hazmat endorsement preferred
- Agriculture experience preferred
- Forklift certification preferred
- Ability to lift 75 pounds
- Ability to climb rail cars, ladders, stairs, and bins
- Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures
- Selected candidates may be required to pass pre-employment screenings, including drug, criminal, motor vehicle, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse checks
