About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support daily fertilizer plant operations
  • Independently perform general labor responsibilities promptly and efficiently
  • Maintain knowledge of handled commodities and comply with company policies and government regulations
  • Work with customers courteously and professionally
  • Prepare trucks and railcars for loading and unloading, including sampling, opening hatches and attaching or detaching flexible hoses
  • Load and unload agricultural inputs using heavy or light-duty machinery and equipment
  • Control and monitor load-out functions
  • Operate automated scale/dump systems
  • Record maintenance tasks and inspect equipment for seeps and leaks
  • Monitor and maintain inventory quality
  • Deliver fertilizer, chemical, seed, feed and other products to customer sites
  • Maintain clean, orderly and safe work areas and complete housekeeping and record-keeping duties
  • Perform warehouse work, including loader and forklift operation, inventory loading/unloading and general maintenance
  • Report customer complaints, repair needs, maintenance needs and safety concerns
  • Promote safety culture, identify workplace hazards and correct or report unsafe conditions
  • Perform other assigned duties to ensure smooth facility operations and excellent customer service

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations
  • Ability to operate loaders, conveyors, tractors and track mobile
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • CDL license or ability to attain one with Hazmat endorsement preferred
  • Agriculture experience preferred
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs
  • Ability to climb rail cars, ladders, stairs and bins
  • Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures
  • Selected candidates may be required to pass drug, criminal, motor vehicle, physical requirements and/or FMCSA Clearinghouse screenings
