About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as the lead support person in the daily operation of a retail store
Provide guidance, general work direction, and training to other employees
Help ensure safety and accident-handling procedures are followed
Greet and assist customers while modeling exemplary conduct
Help ensure customer complaints are handled professionally and resolved positively
Support the store manager in maintaining clean and inviting buildings, equipment, and grounds
Ensure merchandise is properly stocked, rotated, and clean
Complete and balance paperwork and deposits according to company guidelines
Ensure employees comply with cleanliness, grooming, and uniform policies
Develop merchandise displays to attract attention and promote sales
Help enforce company standards, policies, guidelines, and applicable laws concerning tobacco, alcohol, lottery, and Powerball sales
Monitor cashier, vendor, and customer activity and report theft or dishonesty
Authorize gas station pump payments
Enforce and uphold the credit policy

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School diploma or GED
5+ years of experience in Retail and/or Retail Merchandising and Customer Service
Strong Customer Service skills
Previous experience in a team lead or leadership role, preferred
Ability to work flexible hours
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work on computers with MS Office Suite
High level of product knowledge in convenience store products, livestock or equine products, lawn and garden supplies, hardware, fencing, pet feed and supplies, or related retail knowledge, preferred
Selected candidates may be required to pass pre-employment screenings, including drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements, and/or FMCSA Clearinghouse screening
