About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage overall store operations, including hiring, training, coaching, performance reviews, and corrective or disciplinary action
  • Ensure excellent customer service and handle complaints quickly and tactfully
  • Drive sales through store marketing activities and promotional programs
  • Reconcile purchase orders with delivery invoices to maintain inventory flow
  • Ensure monthly and annual store and employee performance objectives are met
  • Interact with vendors and maintain inventory levels within company guidelines
  • Keep buildings, equipment, and grounds clean and inviting; stock and rotate merchandise
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and local, state, and federal regulations; complete required documentation
  • Monitor cashier, vendor, and customer activity to detect theft or dishonesty
  • Promote a strong safety culture, follow safety policies, identify workplace hazards, and correct or report unsafe conditions
  • Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of experience in Retail and/or Retail Merchandising and Customer Service
  • Prior leadership experience with progressively advancing level of leadership responsibilities
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • High level product knowledge in convenience store products, livestock or equine products, lawn and garden supplies, hardware, fencing, pet feed and supplies, or related retail knowledge preferred
  • Ability to stand, squat, bend, and lift up to 55 lbs repeatedly
  • Selected candidates may be required to pass pre-employment screenings, including drug, criminal, motor vehicle, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse checks
