About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Sell retail merchandise inside the convenience store while providing outstanding customer service
  • Perform daily inspections of fueling equipment
  • Maintain the convenience store and all equipment in accordance with Enterprise standards
  • Deliver exceptional guest service using proper greeting and departure phrases and management-established service standards
  • Assist tiered card players with redemption of casino promotions as applicable
  • Provide information on casino events, promotions, local attractions, wineries, and directions
  • Total merchandise prices and tax, accept payments, and make change
  • Communicate convenience store product information
  • Set up advertising and pricing displays
  • Escalate station concerns and customer questions to the Service Station Supervisor and/or Manager
  • Accept vendor orders and verify invoices against delivered merchandise
  • Upload deliveries into inventory systems
  • Track and process vendor returns for credit
  • Inspect products for expiration dates
  • Stock shelves, floor, cooler, and freezer after deliveries
  • Perform weekly convenience store inventory
  • Remove and record register cash at the beginning and end of shifts
  • Manage daily register variances
  • Operate CA Lotto equipment according to company and California Lotto rules
  • Clean and maintain the facility, restrooms, floors, trash, and surrounding areas
  • Assist customers at the fuel island and car wash
  • Fill propane bottles according to company and vendor rules
  • Prepare coffee and maintain coffee, fountain drink, and food areas
  • Clean fueling equipment daily
  • Follow county Hazardous Materials Unit spill clean-up procedures
  • Paint fuel island curbs weekly or as needed
  • Promote teamwork, mutual respect, collaboration, and company values
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Previous experience in a retail sales environment is preferred
  • Compliance with state ABC requirements within 30 days of hire to sell alcohol
  • Compliance with state requirements within 30 days of hire to sell tobacco
  • Completion of the SERV safe certification for food safety within 30 days of hire
  • Completion of the state required fuel safety program within 30 days of hire
  • Must complete training on CA Lotto sales policies and regulations within 30 days of employment
  • Must complete propane dispensing training with appropriate vendor within 30 days of employment
  • Previous cash handling experience is preferred
  • Basic proficiency utilizing point of sale systems
  • Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, email, and internet
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends
  • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency
