About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Architect, implement, and evolve observability solutions, including logs, metrics, traces, and application monitoring
  • Administer and optimize Elasticsearch and Elastic Stack environments, ensuring performance, scalability, and efficient data ingestion
  • Implement metric collection, dashboards, and alerts using Prometheus and Grafana
  • Instrument applications using OpenTelemetry, particularly in Java and Spring Boot environments
  • Configure and maintain telemetry agents and collectors, such as Grafana Alloy, Filebeat, Logstash, and OpenTelemetry Collector
  • Collaborate with development teams to adopt best practices for instrumentation, structured logging, and business metrics
  • Develop automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to advance observability infrastructure
  • Define alerting and monitoring strategies to reduce false positives, improve MTTR, and increase system reliability
  • Partner with Development and Infrastructure teams to implement and optimize observability solutions at scale
  • Advance observability, monitoring, and application telemetry solutions, ensuring reliability, high availability, and visibility across complex software environments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Solid experience in DevOps, SRE, or Observability in complex environments
  • Experience with the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Filebeat), including administration, performance, and optimization
  • Strong knowledge of Prometheus, PromQL, Grafana, and alert configuration
  • Experience with Grafana Loki and Grafana Alloy for telemetry collection and management
  • Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry, including automatic and manual application instrumentation
  • Knowledge of Java and Spring Boot for application instrumentation and analysis
  • Experience with logs, metrics, traces, and monitoring distributed applications
  • Knowledge of script development and automation using Python, Go, Java, or Shell/Bash
  • Experience with DevOps practices, automation, and system reliability
  • Preferred: experience with Kubernetes and Helm Charts
  • Preferred: knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, or other Infrastructure as Code tools
  • Preferred: experience with Jaeger, Grafana Tempo, or APM and distributed tracing solutions
  • Preferred: experience with microservices and cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Preferred: knowledge of SRE practices, SLIs, SLOs, and MTTR reduction strategies
  • Preferred: Elastic, Grafana, Kubernetes, or Cloud certifications
