About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own end-to-end environment provisioning and platform readiness across the data stack from SQL Server CDC source through Snowflake landing, raw, and curated layers
  • Provision and maintain Snowflake DEV, QA, UAT, and Production environments with right-sized warehouses, auto-suspend, resource monitors, and cost attribution
  • Coordinate Azure infrastructure provisioning, including Virtual Networks, NSGs, Private Endpoints, Azure Key Vault, self-hosted Azure DevOps agents, VM infrastructure, firewall rules, TLS certificates, and DNS resolution
  • Manage Snowflake RBAC provisioning and execute access tests before handover
  • Manage vendor and service account access lifecycle, credential storage and rotation, and documented revocation
  • Build and operate Azure DevOps YAML CI/CD pipelines for data artifacts and enforce DEV-to-Production promotion controls
  • Integrate automated regression, schema validation, row-count, data quality, code, dependency, and IaC scanning into CI pipelines
  • Design, document, and rehearse rollback procedures, including mock cutover and rollback rehearsal
  • Implement end-to-end monitoring with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics for replication health, CDC lag, warehouse freshness, schema drift, and semantic-definition changes
  • Configure alerts and escalation paths routed to the client’s ITSM tool
  • Maintain Azure diagnostic settings, centralized Log Analytics, retention, access control, and audit trails
  • Implement Snowflake resource monitors and Azure Cost Management budget alerts, and produce FinOps attribution reports
  • Own platform cost attribution, consumption monitoring, resource tagging, cost modeling, budgets, and right-sizing reviews
  • Manage Azure and Snowflake infrastructure as code using Terraform or Bicep, including remote state and policy guardrails
  • Maintain architecture decision records, network and connectivity designs, environment topology, CI/CD promotion models, and security access documentation
  • Write and validate operational runbooks for failures, recovery, CDC lag, deployment, rollback, reconciliation, access, cost anomalies, and incident routing
  • Drive progressive knowledge transfer through paired working sessions, shadowed deployments, and runbook exercises
  • Act as the named client-facing point of contact for platform operations across delivery, DataOps, Cloud Architecture, Infrastructure/Network, and Information Security teams
  • Track infrastructure dependencies, need-by dates, and schedule impacts, escalating readiness risks proactively

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Solid, hands-on experience in DataOps or platform engineering roles supporting a production cloud data platform end-to-end, covering provisioning, CI/CD, monitoring, and operational handoff
  • Strong CI/CD experience for data pipelines using Azure DevOps Pipelines (YAML), Git-based workflows with branch policies and approval gates, automated testing and regression gates, and multi-environment promotion paths
  • Azure infrastructure fluency: Virtual Networks, NSGs, Private Link and Private Endpoints, Azure Key Vault, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Monitor and Log Analytics, and Azure Cost Management
  • Hands-on Terraform experience including remote state management on Azure Blob Storage, the Snowflake Terraform provider, and IaC security scanning integrated into CI pipelines
  • Snowflake platform experience with RBAC design, warehouse sizing and segregation, resource monitors, row-access policies, and dynamic data masking
  • Experience monitoring and alerting on a CDC-based replication pipeline in production, including lag monitoring, restart and recovery procedures, and schema-drift detection
  • Experience managing pipeline credentials via Azure Key Vault with no plaintext credentials in repositories or pipeline definitions, and documented rotation procedures
  • Experience integrating code scanning, dependency scanning, and IaC scanning into CI pipelines
  • Familiarity with least-privilege access design and audit logging requirements in regulated or sensitive-data environments
  • Experience owning FinOps attribution, budget alerts, and right-sizing reviews
  • Fluent English (B2+)
  • Experience across Snowflake Enterprise or Business Critical editions preferred
  • Nice-to-have experience with Qlik Replicate, Azure SQL Server/SQL Server on Azure VM, Microsoft Fabric/OneLake, Azure ExpressRoute and hybrid networking, Microsoft Entra ID PIM, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Power BI semantic model operations, production runbook authorship, knowledge transfer facilitation, mortgage/lending/financial-services environments, and dbt or dbt-style versioned SQL transformation frameworks
