About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain applications using COBOL, working with online and batch routines
- Develop and maintain jobs using JCL
- Perform testing, validation, and code analysis to ensure the quality of deliverables
- Maintain and enhance legacy systems in a Mainframe environment
- Manage files and access databases
- Document processes, analyses, and completed maintenance activities
- Use environment tools such as TSO, Debug Tools, ChangeMan, Hexavision, and Jira
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and rituals
- Collaborate with the team to resolve issues and enhance solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience developing in COBOL, including online and batch routines
- Knowledge of JCL for job development and maintenance
- Knowledge of database access and file manipulation
- Familiarity with CICS and DB2
- Experience with TSO, including managing PDS and sequential files
- Knowledge of or experience with tools such as ChangeMan and Debug Tools
- Experience working with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Proactive, organized, and committed to continuous learning
- Experience with Hexavision is a plus
- Experience in highly complex, high-volume transaction environments is a plus
- Knowledge of development processes and best practices in a Mainframe environment is a plus
