About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support, guide, and structure the data team by promoting engineering best practices, technical reviews, and the continuous improvement of solutions
- Design and evolve the platform’s data architecture, establishing standards for data modeling, pipelines, Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers, and governance
- Support the prioritization and refinement of technical requirements, ensuring well-defined stories with clear and feasible acceptance criteria
- Ensure the quality of delivered data by defining validation, documentation, and traceability practices throughout the data lifecycle
- Translate strategic needs into data solutions, serving as a technical point of contact for stakeholders and product, operations, and management teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong experience in data engineering and technical leadership of data teams
- Experience with KPIs and financial-sector indicators, particularly in banking
- Advanced SQL proficiency and experience with Python/PySpark for reviewing and developing solutions
- Experience with Azure Databricks, including Spark, PySpark, and Spark SQL
- Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) for pipeline orchestration
- Experience with Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, and Gold) and Delta Lake
- Knowledge of data modeling for analytics, including Star Schema, OBT, and fact/dimension models
- Experience with data governance, data quality, and pipeline documentation
- Ability to communicate technical and non-technical concepts to stakeholders with diverse backgrounds
- Experience structuring and managing technical backlogs in agile teams
- Preferred: experience with Azure Purview or data catalog and lineage tools
- Preferred: experience with data CI/CD, such as Azure DevOps
- Preferred: knowledge of BI tools, such as Power BI and Looker
- Preferred: experience working with growth marketing teams
- Preferred: experience with data streaming, such as Spark Structured Streaming or Azure Event Hubs
- Preferred: relevant Azure certifications, such as DP-203 or Databricks Certified Data Engineer
- Preferred: experience with large-scale, mission-critical projects
- Preferred: knowledge of Generative AI applied to data engineering and analytics
