About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and enhance complex backend solutions based on microservices in production
  • Translate business requirements into simple, scalable, and sustainable solutions
  • Work across the entire development lifecycle, from technical refinement through deployment
  • Investigate production issues, perform troubleshooting, and identify root causes
  • Participate in code reviews and promote best practices
  • Identify risks, bottlenecks, and technical debt, and propose architectural improvements
  • Collaborate with Architects/Tech Leads, Product Owners, product teams, and frontend teams in designing BFFs and integrations
  • Serve as a technical reference, supporting mid-level and junior developers
  • Enhance a GCP cloud microservices ecosystem within the financial sector

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong experience with Java (8+) and Spring Boot
  • Experience developing REST APIs, microservices, and synchronous and asynchronous integrations
  • Knowledge of Clean Architecture, DDD, SOLID, and design patterns
  • Experience with distributed systems, messaging, and event-driven architectures
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL; familiarity with NoSQL databases
  • Knowledge of database modeling, querying, and performance optimization
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, preferably GKE
  • Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions
  • Experience with unit, integration, and contract (REST) testing, as well as TDD
  • Experience managing development, staging, and production environments, including variables and secrets
  • Knowledge of observability, including logs, metrics, traces, and production troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of security, including vulnerabilities, authentication/authorization, encryption, and sensitive data protection
  • Proficiency with Git, branching, pull requests, and code reviews
  • Regular use of AI tools for coding, problem investigation, and documentation
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), GKE, Cloud Run, and Cloud Functions
  • Nice-to-have: experience with financial projects, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Secret Manager, Apigee, React, React Native, and Datadog
