About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead implementation of initiatives for CIBC’s Imperial Service business in Western Canada
  • Define, evolve, and execute the long-term Imperial Service vision, operating model, and client value proposition
  • Provide strategic oversight of complex, high-profile markets
  • Deliver sustainable business results, exceptional client experiences, and a strong risk and compliance culture
  • Cultivate accountability, continuous improvement, inclusive leadership, coaching, feedback, and leadership development
  • Lead national strategic initiatives involving frontline roles, leadership capability, and coaching practices
  • Champion seamless client transitions across the Core, Imperial, and Private Wealth continuum
  • Advance advice-based sales leadership and adoption of omni-channel, virtual, and AI-enabled capabilities
  • Leverage CIBC products, channels, specialists, brand, market intelligence, and industry trends to strengthen competitive positioning
  • Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and cross-functional partners on strategies, initiatives, and compensation frameworks
  • Maintain licensing, accreditation, and operational compliance, including CIRO-MFD and CIRO-ID requirements
  • Share responsibility with the Regional President for regional business, risk management, profitability, cost, and expense management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Extensive leadership experience in Personal and Business Banking
  • Strong track record in advice-based sales, client relationship management, and delivering strong business results
  • Experience leading large, geographically dispersed sales teams
  • Experience developing high-performing leaders
  • Deep knowledge of financial services practices, principles, and sales management
  • Ability to translate strategy into execution and achieve financial, client, and operational objectives
  • Proven ability to lead through change while maintaining employee engagement and alignment
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Experience with strategic planning, business planning, and cost management
  • Ability to influence across a complex matrix organization without direct authority
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Strong client and market orientation
  • Experience leading strategic initiatives with execution, stakeholder management, risk management, and measurable outcomes
  • Strong understanding of technology platforms, operational processes, data, and AI
  • Community-minded and externally credible
