About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Partner with product, accounting, treasury, finance, and data engineering teams to understand reporting impacts and design data requirements, data models, business logic, and reporting layers
Develop understanding of financial and accounting processes and make inner workings transparent
Build frameworks and systems to identify issues, lead triage and resolution, and design preventative solutions
Build scalable automated solutions using SQL, Superset, reporting tools, scripting languages, and AI
Share results with larger audiences to educate them on engineering and financial systems
Partner with accounting and treasury to solve data problems arising from new opportunities and regulations
Support Circle’s financial reporting and regulatory compliance requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative major (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering)
5+ years of experience in data analytics
Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language, such as R or Python, for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling
Experience with bank reporting, business banking, financial services, or other similar industries
Strong communication skills and ability to explain systems to non-technical audiences and potentially regulators
Strong collaboration skills across product, product engineering, data engineering, finance, accounting, and treasury
Strong sense of ownership and accountability
Ability to work in the United States, as the posting is listed as “remote first in US”
