About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the UI layer for semantic models, metrics, governance rules, and data lineage
- Define how enterprise intelligence is represented, versioned, and navigated
- Build and maintain the design system, visual language, and component library
- Keep design and code in sync with engineering
- Translate ambiguous requirements into scalable interaction patterns for data engineers and business stakeholders
- Work directly with engineering and product from early concept through shipped product
- Build interfaces where humans and AI collaborate through natural language exploration, structured reasoning, and governed outputs
- Conduct user research and usability testing with enterprise customers
- Translate research findings into design decisions with clear rationale
- Articulate and defend design rationale to founders, engineers, and customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of product design experience
- 4+ years on complex B2B software, including data platforms, developer tools, or analytics applications
- Ability to design coherent patterns at scale and break large visions into shippable pieces
- Comfortable working as the sole designer
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end process from research and problem framing to interaction design and high-fidelity execution
- Comfortable prototyping with AI tools and in code
- Experience building interfaces where humans and AI collaborate on complex tasks
- Track record of working directly with engineering through the build cycle
- Ability to articulate design rationale precisely to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong plus: background in data visualisation, dashboard design, or developer-facing tools
- Strong plus: experience designing natural language or AI-assisted interfaces
