About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Act as a trusted advisor to leaders across employee relations, compensation, performance management, engagement, talent acquisition, and policy governance
Maintain command of U.S. employment laws and HR regulations, ensuring compliance across applicable jurisdictions
Respond to employee inquiries accurately and carefully
Bridge the BMG & VStar division and Cirque du Soleil's corporate HR team
Lead or participate in workplace investigations and employee climate assessments
Design and implement HR initiatives covering performance management, manager onboarding, knowledge transfer, and cultural alignment
Build and deploy tools, guides, and training materials to strengthen manager capability and adoption of HR practices
Deliver agile, tailored HR support in a fast-moving creative entertainment environment
Report directly to the President of the BMG & VStar division
Maintain a functional reporting relationship with the Cirque du Soleil Talent leadership team
Contribute to the success of the division's P&L and a new organizational model

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources Management, or a related field
7–10 years of progressive HR experience, including recognized expertise in employee relations
Proven experience managing complex employee matters with rigor, discretion, and a strategic mindset
Strong project management, facilitation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Excellent command of English, written and spoken
High degree of autonomy and strong organizational skills
Ability to manage competing short- and long-term priorities
Experience in a unionized environment is a bonus
Experience in or knowledge of creative, technical, artistic, or manufacturing environments is a bonus
