About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create and execute test plans during pre-silicon and post-silicon product phases
  • Contribute to the design, creation, and enhancement of test frameworks and validation modules
  • Find issues and triage/debug them with software organization team members
  • Identify, report, and handle defects in a defect tracking system
  • Present results to product owners and internal customers to help resolve defects
  • Analyze test-result data to identify patterns, extract insights, and support conclusions that improve product quality
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers on real-world challenges and product development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • Knowledge of embedded systems and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
  • Knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as Python, shell, C, and C++
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be based within commutable distance of the Austin, Texas work location or willing to relocate before the internship
  • Must be able to access technical data without requiring an export license
  • Cirrus Logic cannot sponsor or obtain export licenses for this role
  • Preferred: Understanding of MCU and DSP cores/processors
  • Preferred: Understanding of software testing and test automation principles
  • Preferred: Familiarity with defect management practices
  • Preferred: Familiarity with SDLC
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Jira, SVN/Git, and continuous integration systems such as Jenkins
