Senior Digital Design Engineer
Cirrus Logic. Design and develop new digital circuit architectures from concept and architecture through design, integration, and production on advanced process nodes .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and develop new digital circuit architectures from concept and architecture through design, integration, and production on advanced process nodes
- Develop block-level testbenches
- Collaborate with engineers to deliver complex mixed-signal products and IPs
- Contribute to technical reviews
- Ensure IP quality using checklists
- Supervise junior engineers and contribute to team growth
- Work within the High-Performance Mixed-Signal R&D division developing SoCs for global consumer markets
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s, Master's or Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Extensive proven background in digital CMOS circuit design
- Experience implementing complex digital circuits and sub-systems in RTL using Verilog/SystemVerilog
- Understanding of digital system-level design, standard bus protocols, bus architecture design, and chip-level clock and reset architectures
- Experience verifying block-level digital designs
- Understanding of synthesis and timing analysis of digital circuits
- Good interpersonal, communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to contribute to technical and design reviews and share technical expertise
- Self-motivated and able to work with a sense of urgency in a dynamic environment
- Candidates must live within a commutable distance of Edinburgh or be willing to relocate
- Candidates must be able to access technical data without requiring an export license
- Cirrus Logic cannot sponsor or obtain export licenses for this role
- Preferred: understanding and passion for mixed-signal engineering
- Preferred: experience with UVM-based verification environments
- Preferred: scripting and automation of design tasks
- Preferred: experience with AMBA, SPI, and I2C protocols
- Preferred: lab and silicon validation, chip bring-up, and design-perspective debug experience
- Preferred: understanding of Linting, CDC, and RDC tools
- Preferred: collaboration with DFT and Place and Route teams
- Preferred: board-level interface standards and interface design
- Preferred: clock generation circuits and multiple clock domains
- Preferred: power gating and low-power design techniques
- Preferred: ARM, RISC-V, or similar microcontrollers and memory controllers
- Preferred: DSP filter design using MATLAB and signal analysis techniques
