About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide excellent customer service to Security Plan Life Insurance Company’s internal and external customers
  • Process office, mail, and credit card payments; record collections, balance funds, mark receipts, make deposits, and enter collections into the DC90 collection system
  • Input and review District Agent deposits in the DC90 collection system
  • Answer phones using the standard company greeting
  • Check and maintain individual and District email accounts throughout the workday
  • Greet walk-in customers
  • Process NSF checks, enter them into the DC90 collection system, and provide copies to District Manager and Field Audit staff
  • Manage incoming and outgoing District mail and print labels as needed
  • Track agent postage
  • Track District supply inventory and place orders when needed
  • Perform daily Remote Deposit check scanning
  • Update daily tracking documents, including cash monitoring, activity balancing, outstanding check tracking, and production tracking reports
  • Scan and submit life and fire applications to the New Business department
  • Scan and submit service request forms to the Solutions Center department
  • Maintain a daily log of documents scanned to the Austin office
  • Check new policy applications for completeness and accuracy
  • Create and submit money move request forms to the Field Audit department
  • Scan and submit claim information to the Claims department
  • Research and review DC83 system images to provide policy information when appropriate
  • Organize and file records according to the company’s record retention policy
  • Perform other duties and projects assigned by the Regional Office Administrator, including contacting policyholders, requesting payments, and updating office pay client records

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two to three years’ experience providing customer service
  • One to two years’ experience handling money and accurately making change for customers
  • Dependable transportation with valid driver’s license and liability insurance
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle volume with precision
  • Ability to learn the proper functions of the IBM system
  • Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and professional phone handling
  • Ability to multi-task and meet assigned deadlines
  • Ability to remain professional when dealing with customers and co-workers
  • Ability to reach high and low; open, close and retrieve files from file cabinets; operate a computer keyboard and appropriate office equipment
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit for long periods, lift up to 20 lbs., open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool
  • Occasional local travel required
  • Ability to clock in and out of the company time tracking system
