About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and document comprehensive test plans and test cases based on requirements documents
- Perform functional, regression, performance, usability, and user acceptance testing as directed
- Understand the functionality and limitations of IT-supported software, systems, and integrations
- Collaborate with IT team members, the PMO, and business partners to develop and refine testing strategies
- Conduct tests to evaluate software and systems for quality, usability, and compliance with requirements
- Analyze test results and identify, assess, document, prioritize, and help resolve defects and issues
- Record defects in Azure DevOps with detailed descriptions, reproduction steps, and expected behavior
- Monitor testing progress and adjust plans to meet project timelines and deliverables
- Report testing results, issues, and concerns to IT teams, business stakeholders, and management
- Provide observations and recommendations based on test findings
- Maintain testing documentation and reports according to established standards and best practices
- Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to align testing with project goals and timelines
- Communicate identified issues, prioritize bug fixes, and verify resolutions with development teams
- Serve as the main point of contact for testing activities on assigned projects when assigned
- Stay current with software programming, test design, and quality assurance practices
- Contribute to improving testing processes, methodologies, and tools
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of experience in testing and test design
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Knowledge of black-box and white-box testing methodologies
- Basic programming knowledge
- Good organizational skills
- Detail-oriented mindset
- Strong critical-thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to clearly and concisely report defects
- Ability to convey complex technical issues effectively
- Ability to analyze test results and troubleshoot issues
- Ability to identify root causes
- Ability to document potential risks
- Ability to propose solutions to improve product quality
- Ability to comprehend new concepts, ask pertinent questions, and execute and document ideas with minimal day-to-day direction
- Proven competency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Business Administration (preferred)
- Test automation experience (preferred)
- Experience in the insurance industry (preferred)
- Experience with Azure DevOps (preferred)
