About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as subject matter expert on data center technologies
  • Manage data center infrastructure, network support and internal systems environments
  • Perform business needs analysis, documentation, design, development, testing and solution determination for technology implementations
  • Design and support server systems and supporting software
  • Document technical business processes and information systems
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, third-party processors and support teams to ensure designs meet organizational needs
  • Improve business process life cycles and coordinate related tasks
  • Develop and maintain systems for mass deployment and automation of applications, updates and computer images
  • Recommend modernization and improvements to data center, network and systems efficiency, performance and reliability
  • Evaluate and deploy new systems and upgrades
  • Troubleshoot and repair critical server and network infrastructure issues
  • Establish and implement backup and recovery policies
  • Maintain current documentation for Active Directory components and the ITAM system of record
  • Lead implementation of systems or networks, including planning, scheduling and coordination
  • Handle escalations from junior-level system administrators
  • Support organizational goals and requests in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5–7 years of experience in systems administration, with demonstrated expertise in virtualization, cloud and networking technologies
  • 2–4 years of experience in system administration for medium or large enterprises
  • 2–4 years of experience in the financial sector or other regulated sectors preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows and Linux server systems
  • In-depth knowledge of VMware and Citrix virtualization technologies
  • Advanced administration knowledge of Active Directory, Azure and Office 365
  • In-depth knowledge of email administration and related configurations, including SMTP, DMARC and SPF
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management principles and patching/remediation
  • In-depth understanding of network protocols, topologies and troubleshooting
  • Scripting and automation tools preferred, including PowerShell and Bash
  • Ability to work independently, multitask and take ownership of project or initiative components
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines or unexpected changes
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree
