About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Asset Manager by evaluating and monitoring the condition and performance of stormwater infrastructure assets
- Develop and implement asset management policies, procedures, and programs aligned with City goals and industry best practices
- Plan and schedule routine maintenance activities and prioritize asset repairs and replacements
- Contribute to operational and capital improvement planning
- Maintain design standards, contributed capital records, and documentation for active and completed construction projects
- Collect, analyze, and prioritize infrastructure data for maintenance and capital planning
- Design and oversee strategic asset management initiatives to extend asset lifecycles and optimize operations
- Partner with leadership and engineering teams on capital rehabilitation and replacement projects
- Prepare and maintain asset management plans, inventories, condition assessments, risk analyses, and lifecycle cost evaluations
- Monitor and report asset performance for capital investment decisions, O&M budgeting, and strategic planning
- Lead development and maintenance of the City’s CMMS, ensuring data integrity, reporting accuracy, and staff training
- Oversee inspection and audit activities for compliance with standards and regulations
- Coordinate among divisions to advance the City’s asset management program and continuous improvement
- Provide guidance and training on asset data collection, inspection processes, and reporting protocols
- Analyze and recommend operational process improvements for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Maintain compliance with City safety and operational policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Asset Management, or a closely related field, or any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in successful performance of the essential functions
- Two (2) years of relevant experience
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
- Preferred: Four (4) years of relevant experience
- Preferred: One (1) year of experience in GIS mapping or analysis of municipal utility infrastructure
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, CMMS, Microsoft Excel, SQL Server, CityWorks, GPS, or other surveying/database management software
- Understanding of asset management principles, lifecycle planning, and inventory tracking
- Ability to collect, organize, and interpret large volumes of data accurately
- Project management and organizational skills
- Ability to create reports, dashboards, and presentations
- Ability to collaborate with multiple departments and stakeholders
- Ability to identify inefficiencies or risks and recommend improvements
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial and operational data
- Ability to adapt to new software, systems, and procedures
- Occasional local travel within the County
- Must successfully complete pre-employment screenings and employment eligibility verification, including drug test, background and national sex offender search, motor vehicle record search, and potentially a physical demands evaluation
- Ability to perform occasional field inspections, navigate uneven terrain and construction zones, and lift/carry up to 25 pounds occasionally
