Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver engineering discipline design, analysis, calculations, and drawing input for building projects across UK sectors
  • Undertake electrical engineering design and analysis under supervision
  • Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems
  • Identify, assess, and resolve engineering problems using qualitative and quantitative measures
  • Conduct feasibility studies, cost estimates, and risk assessments
  • Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, contractors, clients, and other project stakeholders
  • Integrate coordinated designs within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Contribute to high-quality written reports
  • Prepare and present technical data, drawings, and tenders
  • Participate in technical reviews and internal reviews
  • Self-check own work and check others’ work
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, CDM Regulations 2015, and practice QMS
  • Communicate clearly with internal and external peers and clients

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experienced electrical engineer with a good understanding of Building Services MEP
  • Keen eye for technical detail
  • Ability to undertake electrical engineering design and analysis under supervision
  • Knowledge of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems
  • Ability to ensure compliance with industry standards, IEEE, NEC, IEC, local building codes, CDM Regulations 2015, and practice QMS
  • Ability to conduct feasibility studies, cost estimates, and risk assessments
  • Experience using industry-standard analysis and calculation software
  • Ability to prepare, present, self-check, and review technical data, drawings, and tenders
  • Ability to manage project timelines, budgets, and resources
  • Proactive, organised, collaborative, and keen to develop electrical engineering capability
