About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor import processes from shipment through delivery of goods.
- Review and control import documentation, including Commercial Invoice, Packing List, B/L, AWB, DI/DUIMP, and other documents related to the process.
- Monitor customs clearance activities with customs brokers and other service providers.
- Review and control import costs, including taxes, port and terminal fees, storage, demurrage, detention, customs clearance expenses, and domestic transportation.
- Receive, review, and control invoices and payment documentation related to import processes.
- Record and control costs and payments in SAP.
- Identify and monitor discrepancies in amounts, documents, charges, and process information.
- Keep import process, cost, payment, and deadline controls up to date.
- Monitor operational deadlines to prevent additional costs, delays, and operational impacts.
- Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, terminals, and other service providers.
- Collaborate with Customer Service, Finance, Tax, Accounting, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth process execution.
- Prepare and update import reports and tracking controls.
- Organize and maintain import process documents and records for internal controls and audits.
- Support the identification of opportunities to improve import processes and reduce costs.
- Issue insurance certificates.
- Create billing documents.
- Provide support for export processes.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Preferred: knowledge of SAP and intermediate Excel skills.
