About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting
- Coordinate and direct financial planning, budgeting, procurement, or investment activities
- Prepare financial information
- Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, budgets, and regulatory reports
- Evaluate procurement of funds and investment of surpluses and make recommendations
- Monitor ratios and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Monitor and evaluate accounting and financial staff performance, recommending and implementing actions
- Advise management on short- and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions
- Communicate regularly with boards, bankers, investors, and constituents
- Prepare for and/or host board presentations
- Provide customized accounting services directly to clients as part of CLA's CAAS practice
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree is required; combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree
- 6 years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience is required
- Healthcare industry experience
- Aptitude for developing and maintaining a thorough working knowledge of accounting software and systems
- QuickBooks experience is highly preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and applicable software
- Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (FASB/SFAS) or another comprehensive basis of accounting
- CPA certification is preferred but not required
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Strong organization skills, goal orientation, and self-motivation
- Ability to handle pressure in a positive professional manner
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Clear, concise, and considerate communication
- Ability to work cooperatively with others and value different contributions
- Proven success managing work and key client relationships to exceed client expectations
- Must work primarily in-office, with local travel to/from client sites and occasional non-local or overnight travel
