About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting
- Coordinate and direct financial planning, budgeting, procurement, and investment activities
- Prepare financial information
- Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, budgets, and regulatory reports
- Evaluate procurement of funds and investment of surpluses and make recommendations
- Monitor ratios and key performance indicators
- Monitor and evaluate accounting and financial staff performance and implement actions
- Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions
- Communicate with boards, bankers, investors, and constituents
- Prepare for and/or host board presentations
- Provide customized accounting services to clients as part of CLA's CAAS practice
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree is required; combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree
- 7 years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience is required
- Public accounting experience preferred
- CPA certification preferred but not required
- Thorough working knowledge of accounting software and systems
- QuickBooks experience highly preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and applicable software
- Ability to work primarily in-office
- Ability to travel locally to/from client sites and occasionally travel non-locally or overnight
