About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Deliver creative business solutions to clients in the life sciences, consumer products, and retail industries
Work with staff, management, stakeholders, and vendors
Create original concepts for projects using advanced analytical and conceptual skills
Design and develop platforms for scalable solutions
Provide technical expertise in current and emerging technologies, trends, and practices
Anticipate business challenges, including regulations, and recommend process, product, or service enhancements
Design, prototype, and develop Big Data Platforms using Azure or AWS
Translate business goals into architectural strategies and technical solutions
Serve in a lead capacity on client initiatives
Mentor junior Data Architects and Data Engineers
Assist in defining and managing client solutions
Work from a home office when not at a client site or traveling
Participate in client travel averaging 30–50%

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience with data management solutions using data lake platform tools and technologies
Experience with data architecture supporting data warehousing, business intelligence, master data management, and reference data management
Familiarity with Data as a Service (DaaS) concepts and REST APIs
Familiarity with Azure or AWS-based data and data management tools, including Azure SQL, Azure Data Catalog, Azure Service Fabric, and microservices
Familiarity with TOGAF or another recognized architecture framework
Working knowledge of ITIL, SDLC, or similar methodologies
Familiarity with developing data catalogues and integrating with enterprise architecture
Familiarity with cloud data platforms and process automation
Experience using data modeling techniques for data integration
Experience working with staff, management, stakeholders, and vendors
Significant experience analyzing business processes and functions
Significant experience as an engineer or technical subject matter expert in at least two of infrastructure, data, application, or security technologies
Skill creating system diagrams for technical and non-technical audiences
Advanced analytical and conceptual skills
Experience developing and applying architectural governance
Skill applying innovative approaches to technical design issues
Experience anticipating business challenges and recommending enhancements
Four-year degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline
Travel estimated at 30–50%
