About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with staff, management, stakeholders, and vendors
  • Create original concepts for various projects using advanced analytical and conceptual skills
  • Design and develop platforms for scalable solutions
  • Provide technical expertise in current and emerging technologies, trends, and practices
  • Anticipate business challenges, including regulations, and recommend process, product, or service enhancements
  • Design, prototype, and develop Big Data Platforms using Azure or AWS
  • Translate business goals and objectives into architectural strategies and technical solutions
  • Serve in a lead capacity on client initiatives
  • Mentor junior Data Architects and Data Engineers
  • Assist in defining and managing client solutions
  • Travel to client engagements as needed
  • Work from a home office when not at a client site or traveling

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience with data management solutions using data lake platform tools and technologies
  • Experience with data architecture supporting data warehousing, business intelligence, master data management, and reference data management
  • Familiarity with Data as a Service (DaaS) concepts and REST APIs
  • Familiarity with Azure or AWS-based data and data management tools, including Azure SQL, Azure Data Catalog, Azure Service Fabric, and microservices
  • Familiarity with data integration points for TOGAF or another recognized architecture framework
  • Working knowledge of ITIL, SDLC, or similar development and operations methodologies
  • Familiarity with developing data catalogues and integrating with enterprise architecture
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms and process automation
  • Experience using data modeling techniques for data integration
  • Experience working with staff, management, stakeholders, and vendors
  • Significant experience analyzing business processes and functions
  • Significant experience as an engineer or technical subject matter expert in at least two of infrastructure, data, application, or security technologies
  • Skill creating system diagrams for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Advanced analytical and conceptual skills
  • Experience developing and applying architectural governance
  • Skill applying innovative approaches to technical design issues
  • Experience anticipating business challenges, including regulatory issues, and recommending enhancements
  • 4-year degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline
  • Travel estimated at 30–50%
