About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as the program's technical expert
- Conduct desktop project verifications
- Ensure Trade Ally adherence to program, Department of Energy, and applicable state standards
- Ensure program designs reflect actual installation guidelines and measure minimums
- Develop technical training materials and conduct training for internal and external participants
- Serve as the organization's technical spokesperson to partner programs, clients, customers, contractors, and technical forums/boards
- Deliver Trade Ally guidance and training
- Understand evaluation and project risks and develop and communicate strategies
- Quality-control complex measure and modeling runs
- Develop protocols for interpreting specifications, guidelines, manuals, and technical requirements
- Provide building science adjustments to contractor measures
- Document observations regarding project scope, planning, and product/service effectiveness
- Review documents for technical accuracy and sound building science practices
- Attend required program meetings and training courses
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of relevant industry experience required (e.g. HVAC, electrical, residential construction, building maintenance, general contracting, etc.)
- Bachelor's in Building Science or related program preferred
- Strong knowledge of building science and building science applications required
- BPI Building Analyst Professional (BA-P) certification or ability to obtain a BA-P certification within the first 60 days of employment required
- Excellent communication, organizational, mathematical, and documentation skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- High school diploma
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Salesforce experience preferred
- Knowledge of Energy Star, AHRI, BPI Standards, and NREL Standard Work Specifications a plus
- Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located without employer sponsorship or support
- Must pass pre-employment checks
- If applicable, meet all DOT qualification requirements and comply with applicable transportation regulations
