About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design service boundaries, data models, and REST API contracts
- Build event-driven microservices using GCP Pub/Sub
- Handle asynchronous processing, backpressure, and dead-letter queues
- Develop a webhook-triggered survey automation engine
- Build reliable, auditable, event-driven workflows for survey delivery
- Develop resilient and observable services with retries, timeouts, circuit breakers, structured logging, metrics, and tracing
- Implement security and SSO integrations for enterprise clients
- Design permission and access-control systems for matrix organizational hierarchies
- Build integration layers connecting enterprise data sources to the platform
- Deliver correct, observable, and resilient production code
- Report to the CTO
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
- Student Visas and H-1B are not supported
- Java 18+
- JVM-level understanding of concurrency, memory model, garbage collection, and exception hierarchy
- Spring Boot/Spring ecosystem depth, or deep dependency injection and IoC understanding from another framework
- SQL and data modelling skills, including joins, aggregations, window functions, indexes, and N+1 problem awareness
- API design knowledge, including versioning, error semantics, and idempotency
- Systems thinking under failure, including retries, timeouts, idempotency, and consistency
- Experience building systems that handle real load, including personal or academic projects
- GCP experience with Pub/Sub, Dataflow, BigQuery, or Vertex AI is a bonus
- Kafka or other message queue experience is a bonus
- Kubernetes and container orchestration experience is a bonus
- Event sourcing or CQRS experience is a bonus
- Observability tooling experience is a bonus
