About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of Transit ITS projects
  • Lead project teams and manage project resources throughout the full development life cycle
  • Manage projects according to scope, budget, schedule, quality standards, and stakeholder expectations
  • Serve as the primary customer contact and communicate project progress
  • Track issues and mitigate risks; facilitate project meetings and prepare and deliver status reports
  • Collaborate with Deployment, Engineering Design, Installation, Field Service, Systems Engineering, Product/Engineering, Sales, and Account Management teams
  • Establish project plans, schedules, milestones, and master-plan adherence
  • Monitor critical paths and implement corrective actions
  • Review project deliverables, software, and hardware; report project performance
  • Manage financial and schedule performance
  • Manage project lifecycle completion and procurement of equipment and materials
  • Develop subcontractor scopes of work, execute subcontracts, and manage subcontractors
  • Coordinate sales opportunities and may support proposal preparation and contract negotiation and administration
  • Travel to customer facilities for onsite work, up to 40%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years’ experience as a Project Manager in a technical or engineering environment focused on delivering projects to external customers
  • B.S. Degree and/or 5+ years as a Project Manager in an ITS environment
  • PMP certification or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in the transit industry
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and ability to learn Microsoft Dynamics AX
  • Strong team building and leadership skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, analytical, and time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and persuasive skills
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and influence skills
  • Ability to commute to the Los Angeles, CA region weekly
  • Ability to travel to customer facilities, up to 40%
