About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Turn customer goals into scoped projects with measurable success criteria, sizing, and timelines
Design target architectures and prove them against customer data through schema and engine design, capacity and sizing, and proofs of concept
Implement pipelines, integrations, migrations, tooling, and automation
Benchmark and perform load and functional testing before production use
Support cutover and tune production workloads
Hand over engagements through reports and knowledge transfer
Take L1 to L3 support cases alongside support engineers between projects
Feed field learnings back to Product and Engineering
Create reference architectures, knowledge base articles, and blog posts
Collaborate with Pre-sales to ensure demos and POCs are production-credible
Travel to customer sites up to 35% of the time, depending on the project
Participate in an on-call rotation about one week per quarter

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years delivering hands-on technical work for customers
Real depth in analytical, transactional, or relational databases
Hands-on SQL, including writing complex queries from scratch and tuning/debugging them
Experience owning implementations, migrations, or POCs for external customers from start to finish
Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, and/or Azure
Experience deploying and running workloads on Kubernetes
Ability to provide precise technical answers and explain them clearly
Fluent English
Nice to have: ClickHouse, Splunk, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, Elastic, Terraform, Kafka, Kinesis, Spark, Debezium, Python, Bash, Go, and open-source experience
