About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the supply-side strategy for priority products, including product development and commercialization, financial and market analyses, and new product introduction
- Design and implement market-shaping strategies to increase access to key diagnostics
- Leverage CHAI’s country-level footprint to generate market insights and link global market shaping with country demand
- Develop work plans with GMT leadership, CHAI teams, and external stakeholders to achieve market-shaping goals and grant deliverables
- Manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects and subcontracted partner outputs
- Cultivate relationships with senior executives of diagnostics companies and governmental, multilateral, and non-governmental organizations
- Lead negotiations with diagnostic companies on pricing and supply terms
- Support suppliers in developing commercial strategies that sustain their businesses and enable product access across low- and middle-income countries
- Monitor the ecosystem for risks and opportunities affecting priority product markets; adapt program strategy as needed
- Represent CHAI to major donors and external partners
- Engage scientific experts to support suppliers on product development, production planning, regulatory approval, quality, and demand forecasting
- Build institutional capacity and facilitate knowledge sharing and knowledge management
- Manage direct and/or indirect reports within a matrixed organization
- Travel up to 25%
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree plus 8 or more years of work experience
- Experience working in the private sector, ideally in strategy consulting, and/or investment banking or similar fast-paced, results-oriented environments such as in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostic or medical device industries
- Exceptional analytical (qualitative and quantitative) and communication (written and verbal) skills; detail oriented
- Creative thinker, enabling development of transformational solutions to complex global health problems
- Entrepreneurial mindset, including ability to work independently, self-motivate, propose and implement new ideas, and bring others along
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities
- Ability to absorb and synthesize a broad range of information, including financial, regulatory, diagnostic, and scientific information
- Strong desire to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment; demonstrated ability to build strong relationships quickly, externally and internally
- Excellent manager with proven track record of delivering on complex, multistakeholder projects
- Willingness to travel
- Experience working remotely with a decentralized team (advantage)
- Experience in medical diagnostics and/or global health (advantage)
- Experience working in or supporting Low- and Middle-Income Countries (advantage)
