About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as the main point of contact for a large global portfolio of content publishers and licensing partners
  • Build long-term relationships with institutions, courts, government bodies, and commercial publishers
  • Track agreement terms, renewal timelines, and compliance obligations across the portfolio
  • Identify and resolve issues before they put content supply or partner relationships at risk
  • Own licensing agreement renewals across US and international markets
  • Monitor partner compliance obligations and flag risks before coverage gaps arise
  • Find and pursue licensing deals that close practice-area or jurisdictional gaps
  • Conduct initial outreach and scoping for new partnerships, handing strategic or high-value deals to commercial or senior leadership
  • Work with Content and Product teams to prioritize licensing targets against the platform roadmap and content strategy
  • Negotiate contractual, financial, technical, and strategic terms with publishers, courts, and data partners
  • Identify, evaluate, and close licensing deals that add value to Clio's legal content
  • Manage multiple deals and renewals while tracking regulatory and contractual deadlines
  • Collaborate with Content & Editorial, commercial, Product, and Legal teams on content infrastructure, licensing terms, technical ingestion, and metadata standards
  • Contribute to the development of licensing strategy within the product organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years in content licensing, publishing rights, or partnership management, ideally with exposure to legal publishing or legal data
  • Proven work closing multi-stakeholder or high-value international content and software licensing agreements
  • Experience managing a portfolio of external partners across more than one market at once
  • Strong grounding in reading and analyzing complex legal documents, copyright frameworks, and digital distribution rights
  • Negotiation skills across financial, technical, and strategic terms with senior external stakeholders
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for managing external executive teams and internal stakeholders
  • Project management skills to manage multiple high-impact deals and renewals simultaneously, tracking every contractual deadline
