About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct comprehensive assessments of behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs
- Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with client goals
- Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy using modalities such as CBT and DBT
- Deliver care virtually
- Track client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes and treatment outcomes
- Collaborate with primary care physicians, psychiatrists, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals
- Communicate treatment plans, progress, and recommendations with clients, families, and stakeholders
- Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in acute distress
- Develop safety plans and strategies to prevent or mitigate crises
- Educate clients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies
- Maintain a weekly caseload of approximately 28 to 32 patient visits while meeting quality, documentation, and access standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field
- Active independent clinical licensure in at least one of Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience providing therapy to youth, adults, and individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges
- Experience treating patients ages 13 and older
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities and interventions
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, documentation, and organizational skills
- Experience providing telehealth services
- Experience working with specialized populations or treatment areas such as trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, or grief and loss
- Familiarity with Athena One EHR and electronic health record documentation standards
- Willing to get licensed in additional states preferred
