About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Review project proposals and plans to determine time frames and procedures
Ensure direction, completion, and financial outcome of construction projects from initial budget through project closeout
Manage project costs and maximize profitability
Resolve daily project issues to ensure timely, safe, and profitable completion
Resolve conflicts and misunderstandings in contracts and specifications
Review constructability constraints and identify value engineering opportunities
Prepare project reports for management and customers
Prepare and collect change orders and ensure work is delegated appropriately
Develop QC plans when requested, including specific responsibilities and procedures
Negotiate pricing and provide creative solutions to complete projects efficiently and effectively
Travel safely to and from project sites as needed
Liaise between customers and internal departments including sales, detailing, operations, superintendents, and shop teams
Provide three-week look-ahead schedules weekly

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 5 years experience with managing large construction projects
Rebar, concrete, and general contracting experience, highly preferred
Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
Solid understanding of project costs/cost control with strong financial and business acumen
Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal
Strong scheduling, planning, organizing, problem solving, time managing, and prioritizing work skills
Proficient in MS Office programs – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Ability to review and interpret contract documents for advanced projects
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related project management experience, preferred
Must be available to work during Hawaii's business hours
Willingness to travel as needed
